Chris Varnavas’s passion in the sport and fitness industry started from a young age where he represented professional football clubs Barnet FC and Stevenage FC. He then went on to university and achieved a first class degree in Sports & Exercise Science (Strength & Conditioning). During his time at university he became a qualified Personal Trainer and Sports coach and gained vast experience in various gyms and sports clubs.
Chris completed a Master’s degree in Strength & Conditioning and was awarded the Dean’s Academic Excellence scholarship. He spent a whole season (2013-2014) working with the first team at professional football club QPR FC. He had great success and was part of the backroom team that helped QPR’s promotion to the Premier League. This enabled Chris to become an advanced Sport Science / Strength & Conditioning practitioner and is now consistently working with semi-professional and professional athletes.
His aim with ADC is to build a successful team of trainers that provide real sustainable results to the whole of ADC’s community.
Coach Conor has been involved with fitness for many years with an initial background as a full-time tennis coach. Throughout Conor’s years of tennis coaching, he also put his efforts into his education, graduating with Honors from The University of Hertfordshire in 2016 with a degree in Sports Studies. Following this, Conor decided to embark upon his career as a Strength and Conditioning (S&C) coach and was appointed as an S&C intern at Performance Hertfordshire based at his previous university. During his internship, Conor has worked with a variety of international, Olympic and Paralympic athletes, along with Arsenal Ladies first team players and their U16 team.
Conor is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in S&C at Middlesex University London and after his internship has worked as a lead S&C coach with national and regional junior tennis players. While doing so, Conor has also trained personal training clients and has lead HIIT classes.
Since his appointment as an ADC coach in 2018, Conor has worked his way to becoming appointed as head Strength and Conditioning coach and now Studio Manager.
Conor’s ultimate goal is to train clients like athletes, allowing them to become the best version of themselves by looking great and feeling even better.
I have had a passion for sport all my life, being a gymnast and tennis player in my former years, and always a frequent visitor to the gym.
A mum of 3 boys with a previous in the printing industry has kept me busy. However, my passion has always lied in keeping fit and healthy, finding new ways to work out, and I have always been constantly motivated by my (sometimes annoying) inability to resist a challenge. So I decided it was time to follow my passion and qualified as a Personal Trainer in 2017.
Following a weekend back in 2015 with the CHEK institute attaining my Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 1 qualification, I went on to achieve a Level 3 Health Trainer City & Guilds certification, YMCA Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification and am Pre & Post Natal Exercise Certified. I have also attended a Communication and Motivation Skills Workshop.
I launched my career working at HiitGirl, an organisation that worked solely with women creating a variety of HIIT sessions, alongside privately visiting client’s homes offering Personal Training on a 1-2-1 and group level.
Following HiitGirl’s closure, I was lucky enough to be appointed as a Personal Trainer with ADC where I look forward to growing my experiences in the world of Strength & Conditioning, alongside taking weekly HIIT Classes.
I am inspired by those that push themselves to places I could only dream of visiting. I have worked, and played, hard to get where I am today, and I love the feeling of achieving new heights. But I equally love being part of other people’s fitness journeys and helping them to also experience that feeling of having achieved things they never thought possible, no matter how small.
At the Athletic Development Club, we ask our personal trainers to help teach you, we ask them to take their knowledge and give you hints, tips and information about fitness that will help you hit your own fitness targets and goals.
